Door Locks

I have just puchased a now home which has patio doors with multi point locking on each, however to lock the door I need to both lift the handle and then turn the key. As I suffer from arthritis it is dufficult to turn the Key and as I use these doors to access my garden I want to be able to use a single method of closing, locking and then opening, does such a lock/handle exist if so where can i buy it . My local Ba nd Q and locksmith have nothing and know of nothing.

Re:Door Locks

In view of the importance of locking a conservatory properly and the number of scoundrels in the locksmith business can I suggest the following.
Call the Master Locksmiths Association(as featured on Rogue Traders as the expert advisor) and ask them to give you a local member. These are properly qualifed and tested people with a code of practice.
Their number is 01327 262255.

I hope this helps

Patrick

another solution would be to have a keypad installed. May be pricey but another option

I can understand this problem. I tried to lock the door the other day holding lots of bags and found out that it is not possible! I don't know why they make them this way, must be a problem for people who have lost an arm.
I will keep an eye out for you.
