We have just bought a 1930's semi and we had a structural surveryor round who told us we need to put structual windows in as the house has no supporting lintels, (quite a popular way to build in those days we're told) does anyone know where to find a reputable supplier? Would it be better to ask a builder to put Lintals in first? We've read horror stories about Bay windows starting to bow out, think we need some advice.....

It is now Building Regulation to install bay post supports, these are like mini acros props, inside the round/square bay posts, when in position they are then wound up.
We need to know what part of the country you live in?

We are in Warwickshire, we have had a couple of quotes where the double glazing firms have said they would install the lintals at the same time, do you recommend that?
