Lean-To Glass roof maximum size

Hi, we have been quoted on a 3.8m x 4m (projection) lean to conservatory. It will have a dwarf wall to 2 sides and a full hight wall to the other.

we have decided to have a K glass roof, originally in 4 panels stretching the full legth.

I have since been told this is not possible due to the weight and i will need to have a join half way across the conservatory and the glass split into 14 individual sections 57cm approx in width and approx 185cm in length!

Does this sound right and if so, would the amount of joins and the fact that it is a lean conservatory cause the glass to shift and leak in the future?

Also does anyone have any experiance of what to look out for on an 'insurance backed guarentee'? what paper work should i be asking to see?

Hope that makes sense, and any advice welcomed!

Many thanks, Nic
