TV in Conservatory

We have just had a conservatory built and knocked through into the kitchen. The conservatory is south facing. At one end there is a wall approx 1670mm high, above which are some small windows. This wall faces south/west.

We would like to build a cupboard/shelving unit along this wall and put a flat screen tv into one of the central cupboards towards the top of the unit. The cupboard doors will be closed when the tv is not in use to protect it from the sun.

Are we likely to encount any problems with reflexion, vision or damage? Would a LCD or Plasma (if any) screen be best?

If anyone has any advice as to how we can overcome these issues, I'd be really grateful.

Thank you.

TV Computer in conservatory

It just won't work.
At least not in daylight.
The light is so strong, you just cannot see.
Plus you get reflections off of just about everything.
OK. at night.
Would probably help if everything in the conservatory and the conservatory itself is black.

a LCD display will work much better than a traditional glass screen as it will reflect less. I don't expect you will be able to watch it in the day time (as Perry has said) unless you have curtains or something.

It sound like a really nice idea, but like the other 2 posters have said it will be hard to watch. The amount of light that comes through a conservatory is almost as much as if you were sitting outside. If you have a laptop take it outside and you'll see what we mean
