Extended Warranties

Ok, I don't usualy take out extended warranties as they are a wate of money..but in this one case I did, as the product a cam-corder was mechanical and therefore more likely to fail in 5 years...and if I didn't make a claim in 5 years..I could get my cash back.

Well time is up..and time to claim it back. I have to send back my certificate within 14 days or I lose out..also they say proof of postage is not proof of delivery.

I know there has been recent articles on watchdog etc..about this same kind a thing where the ocmpanies involved do not keep to their side of the contract.

How can I safeguard this?
I'm gonna make a photocopy.( but I have to send original) ..I'm going to send by Special Delivery (ie I'll get the name of the person who signed for it) also gonna ring the company to confirm the address to send to is still valid.
Anything else I can do..as I just know they will try their best not to give me my money back!

Cheers,

Vipes

Re: Extended Warranties

Thanks for letting us know Vipes - I have often wondered about this sort of thing and it is good to fine that it has "worked" for at least one person
