Question Granite worktop worries.

Hello out there, what shall I do,
I had a new kitchen fitted in April 07 and 4 months later have found a hairline crack in the granite worktop running from the sink recess to the front edge and down each side, but not right through to the underside. [They tell me that this should never happen, have I been jumping on it!]
The company involved have offered to repair it with a filler and polish it. Should I accept this, or hold out for a new replacement ? I am concerned that repairing the fault will cause more problems later. Should I accept what is offered. Please give me your opinion.
